ULTRA Croatia
Adriatic Magic: Getting Lost (and Found) at Ultra Europe
If we had to pick one place where the water looks like a literal emerald and the party never sleeps, it’s Croatia.
Our trip to Ultra Europe in Split was the definition of “peak summer.” Imagine 90-degree heat, ancient cobblestone streets, and a city that vibrates with bass for three days straight. Croatia is one of those rare places where the architecture is so cool you feel like you’re walking through a movie set, even when you’re just hunting for a slice of late-night pizza.
Boat Parties & Green Water
The fun in Split doesn’t start at the festival gates—it starts on the water. We jumped on the official boat parties right from the get-go, and it was easily one of the highlights of the trip. There is nothing quite like dancing on a deck in the middle of the Adriatic Sea, surrounded by the greenest, clearest water we’ve ever seen. Pro tip: when the boat stops for a swim break, jump in. It’s the only way to survived the Croatian sun!
The European crowd brings a much more “festival chic” energy. You’ll see a lot more actual clothing—stylish streetwear, casual European fits, and way less neon. While the U.S. is all about the “rave” look, Tomorrowland feels like a massive, global cultural gathering. It still has that magical gleam and incredible colors, but it feels a bit more mature and polished.
Dancing Through History
When we weren’t at the main stage, we were wandering through the Old Town. Split is built around a Roman palace, so you’re literally walking over history while headed to a rave. We spent our afternoons:
- Navigating the Labyrinth: Getting lost in the winding, narrow limestone alleys.
- Architecture Gazing: Snapping photos of the massive stone arches and bell towers.
- Making Global Besties: We met people from every continent, shared drinks on the Riva (the main promenade), and ended up dancing in a giant group until the sun started to peak over the mountains.
The Verdict?
Croatia is hot, it’s high-energy, and it’s undeniably beautiful. Between the boat parties and the “dance all night” vibes of the festival, it’s the perfect spot for couples who want a mix of rugged history and world-class production. We had the time of our lives, and our feet are still recovering from those cobblestones!
