Tomorrowland
Tomorrowland: Crossing the Atlantic for the Ultimate "People of Tomorrow" Experience
We’ve done the neon-soaked speedways of the U.S., but we knew that to truly call ourselves festival lovers, we had to make the pilgrimage. So, we packed our bags in California and flew halfway across the world to the fairytale town of Boom, Belgium, for Tomorrowland.
If you’ve only ever done American festivals like EDC, let us tell you: Tomorrowland is a completely different beast—and one you need to see at least once in your life.
European Chic vs. American Neon
The first thing we noticed? The fashion. If you’re used to the “fufu” vibes of EDC—think tiny neon sets, tutus, and glitter-covered skin—you might feel a little underdressed (or overdressed!) in Belgium.
The European crowd brings a much more “festival chic” energy. You’ll see a lot more actual clothing—stylish streetwear, casual European fits, and way less neon. While the U.S. is all about the “rave” look, Tomorrowland feels like a massive, global cultural gathering. It still has that magical gleam and incredible colors, but it feels a bit more mature and polished.
High Vibes and Global Friendships
Don’t let the more “covered-up” outfits fool you; the vibes were absolutely electric. We were blown away by how friendly everyone was. Because people fly in from every corner of the globe, the energy is less about “raging” and more about unity.
We spent our days dancing with people from countries we’ve only seen on maps, and honestly, the lack of “trains” (you know, those 20-person lines pushing through the crowd at EDC) made the experience so much more enjoyable. Everyone respects your space, but they’re also the first to give you a high-five or share a laugh.
Is it Worth the Trek?
Coming from California, it was a long journey, but every mile was worth it. Tomorrowland feels like a permanent fairytale world that was built just for you. The attention to detail—from the way the stages are carved into the landscape to the incredible food—is on another level.
It might not have the “anything goes” chaos of a Vegas speedway, but it has a soul that you just have to feel for yourself. If it’s on your bucket list, stop waiting. Buy the flight, pack a cute (but practical) European outfit, and just go.
