Pura Vida & Car Karaoke: Our Costa Rican (and Nicaraguan!) Whirlwind 🇨🇷🇳🇮
If you aren’t screaming lyrics at the top of your lungs while navigating winding jungle roads, are you even on a road trip? We rented a car in Costa Rica and turned the entire country into our personal karaoke booth as we drove from city to city. 🎤🚗
Jungle Fever & Ocean Depth
Costa Rica is basically a giant zoo without fences, and we saw it all!
- The Rainforest: We spotted sloths (our spirit animals), monkeys, and even a few vipers. (I kept my distance from the snakes, thanks!) 🐍🐒
- The Water: We hit the waves for some surfing and then went deep for scuba diving. We came face-to-face with eels and sharks! It turns out everything in Costa Rica is either very cute or very pointy. 🦈🏄♀️
A Casual Day Trip to… Nicaragua?
Because we can’t sit still, we took a “little” detour over the border to Nicaragua, and it was wild—literally.
- Volcanoes: We saw a massive volcano that made us feel very, very small. 🌋
- Beach Pigs & Wild Horses: We hung out with pigs on the beach (move over, Bahamas!) and watched herds of wild horses running free. It felt like we stepped into a movie set. 🐖🐎
The Verdict
Between the animal sightings, the underwater adventures, and our questionable car singing, this trip was 10/10. Costa Rica (and a splash of Nicaragua) gave us everything we wanted and a few things we didn’t expect—like beach pigs!
Pro Tip: If you’re renting a car, make sure your playlist is long. The drives are beautiful, but the high notes are mandatory. 💃✨
