Chichén Itzá: Or as I Like to Call It, "Chicken Pizza" 🍕🇲🇽
I finally made it to my very first Wonder of the World: Chichén Itzá! Or, if you’re like us and can’t help yourself because the name is just too cute, we basically spent the entire trip calling it “Chicken Pizza.” The Highlights Honestly, the “Chicken Pizza” vibes were high. We had a blast exploring the grounds and soaking up the incredible Mayan history. The scale of the pyramid is seriously impressive, and—let’s be real—the photo ops were 10/10. My camera roll has never looked better. 📸✨
The Honest Truth
Now, don’t get me wrong, it was a great day. But now that I’ve started checking other World Wonders off my list, I have to be a little bit of a travel critic: It wasn’t my favorite.
Maybe it was the humidity, or maybe it’s just hard to compete with some of the other heavy hitters I’ve seen since, but out of all the Wonders, this one sits a little lower on the leaderboard for me.
Final Verdict
Would I recommend going? Absolutely. It’s a piece of history you have to see at least once! Just maybe bring some actual pizza for the ride home, because the name will have you craving a slice the entire time.
Great history, cute pictures, and a name that makes me hungry—not a bad way to kick off my World Wonder journey! 🍗🍕🗺️
